My journey as a Pokémon trainer started in the 6th of June 2016, more than one year ago, in Pallet Town when I defeated my rival for the first time with a little conservative Charmander which I came to find out it had a lot of fire power and potential, specially after becoming a Charizard.
Little by little I started to catch my first team of 6 Pokémon while I was travelling through Kanto and meeting other amazing trainers. After all this, I ended up with a team composed by Charizard, Scizor, Gengar, Milotic, Breloom and Steelix.
By the time I finished gathering all this six Pokémon’s I had already beaten all the eight gym leaders in Kanto, collected all the badges, beaten my rival several times and was heading to the Victory Road. After I passed the Victory Road I finally arrived to Indigo Plateau which is home to the Kanto Pokémon League where I could compete against the best trainers of Kanto and ultimately become the champion. Becoming the champion of the Pokémon League was definitely a dream since the start of my journey as a Pokémon trainer, so the moment I was able to achieve it was one of the moments that I have as a best memory for me since the beginning of this amazing adventure.
Since I became the champion I continued travelling, catching as many Pokémon’s as I could, training them and getting my team of six as strong as I could. Scizor is one of the Pokémon’s I have almost from the beginning of the journey and is still currently part of it. It accompanied me for such a long time that it is hard not call it my favorite Pokémon.
Short after I became the champion, I was able to catch Groundon and Zapdos, two of the current powerhouses I have on my team. This was a major breakthrough since it allowed me to get a lot stronger than I was before and to be able to compete outside of Kanto against the world’s best.
The other three Pokémon’s that are also part of my current team are Kyogre, Rayquaza and Zekrom. All this three Pokémon’s were pretty hard to catch, but the hardest time I ever had catching a Pokémon was when I tried to catch Darkrai, the only Pokémon I remember failing catching. My favorite combination of types and abilities on a Pokémon is ground and fire with desolate land ability which is held by Groundon, making it only vulnerable to other ground Pokémon’s.
For a young trainer there aren’t many tips I can give that aren’t already available in specific guides for rookies. Just start with the Pokémon you like the most, try to early build a catching team, Scizor, Jumpluff, Taillow and Gengar are good Pokémon’s u can include in it. They will help u a lot in the gathering of a team of six really great Pokémon that u like and fit your team. The best advice I think I can give to a rookie Pokémon trainer is to learn and pay attention to how Pokémon natures work, they will be really important in getting the most of your Pokémon’s. If you train and develop your Pokémon team daily and never give up you will definitely become an amazing Pokémon trainer.
